Wednesday Sketch Challenge - Sketch 216

It's hard to believe that we're already presenting our 7th sketch challenge of 2015. We hope our sketches continue to inspire you! It's so great to have you here with us.

Below you'll find Sketch 216. Create cards, scrapbook layouts, home decor, treat containers, mixed media, etc. using this week's sketch and be sure to link your project below for a chance at the weekly My Favorite Things Gift Voucher worth up to $20.

Once again it's such a pleasure to have Guest Designer Laura Williams with us this week! I just love her fresh and pretty style, don't you?

You know what else I love about Laura? She is as sweet as pie when you meet her, but what is surprising is her wit. I've had some of the funniest email exchanges with this lady. Seriously. She can make me ROLL with laughter. We all need more people like her in our lives. And then she makes the prettiest cards. Stop it with the awesomeness, Laura!

Let's see what inspiration we can draw from Laura's take on this week's sketch!

Laura is oozing with spring cuteness this week. She turned the sketch on its ear (pun intended!) and created a subtle wave behind her focal point. I love how the two sizes of dots denote the line of demarkation, but they don't take away from the cute bunny. Such a fun detail. Squint at the sketch again. Do you see how there would be an imaginary wave running through the focal circle? Laura created that line with the little hill, even though the rest of the sketch is vertical. VERY cool.

Our Challenge Team just never lets me down. Their creativity hasn't waned a bit since we got this party started!

Alice tamed the wave in the sketch and went with a simple approach to her design. She still has the rounded corners on the top like the sketch and the round focal point. It's OK to stray from the original. Sketches are for inspiration. Don't ever feel trapped by them!

Erin Lee's powerful design sticks with the sketch with vibrant colors and the focus on the sentiment.

Jill saw a donut in the sketch, too. Funny how that works, but her sentiment ends up on a tag. It almost looks like that donut is on the run, and the sentiment is tagging along.

Miriam admitted to straying very far from the sketch, but it's there! The circle of the sketch is of course the sun. And the waves? The breaking clouds totally fit the bill. What a happy card it is!

Vera fought the wave and the horizontal card and went for a loose interpretation. But in the end, those pretty tulips are the star of the show.

Well, isn't Veronica's card just LOVELY? And what's even more special is that her rather straightforward approach to the sketch was inspired by a purse her mother had years ago. LOVE that.

You have until Tuesday, February 24, at noon EST to add your link and be eligible for the prize of up to $20 in MFT Cash to be spent in the MFT boutique. Winners are chosen at random, so everyone has a chance! The weekly prize is a $15 Gift Voucher to My Favorite Things, but if you use MFT stamps and/or dies in your project, you’ll receive an extra $5.

We'll also occasionally feature cool interpretations of the sketch on the blog and give shout outs to fun, unique, and noteworthy projects. Who knows? You might be SPOTTED! Share your cards on InstagramTwitter, and Facebook using the hashtag #mftstamps.

Congratulations, Lynne! You are the randomly selected winner of last week’s sketch challenge. You can view all the entries for last week’s challenge HERE.
