Each week we see fantastic projects featuring My Favorite Things product, and we're always so thrilled to see what our customers and followers are creating!

Today, we'd like to shine the spotlight on some awesome projects that have caught our attention in another edition of  You've Been Spotted. Sit a spell and get ready to ooooooh and aaaaah over some of the cool designs we've noticed recently.

If you see your project featured, feel free to post this image on your blog and link to this post to show the world that you were spotted by My Favorite Things!

Amy Lee (thecraftbunny on Instagram)

MFT Graphics Guru Laina Lamb spotted Amy's whimsical card on Instagram following #mftstamps. Amy was inspired by Harry Potter when she created this design using the London Mouse stamp set and Die-namics, and with the passing of Alan Rickman last week, this adorable card is a fitting tribute.

Birka Reinitz (biiirka on Instagram)

MFT Social Media Maven Erica Hernandez spotted Birka's cutie pie card on Instagram following #mftstamps. This adorable design using Bionic Bots would be the perfect card for a child on Valentine's Day! Want to see how Birka created this card? Check out the video on her blog HERE.

Joyce Heinen

Creative Team Member Donna Mikasa spotted Joyce's delightful card using the Adorable Elephants stamp set and Die-namics in the MFT Flickr group. Donna says, "I love how the elephant stands out on the watercolored background." The yellow butterflies and sequins add so much to this sweet design.

Michelle Short

Creative Team Member Inge Groot spotted Michelle's card on her blog, and Inge says,"Stunning clean and simple card!" Indeed, Michelle's use of the Flutter of Butterflies - Lace Die-namics is simply lovely paired with a sentiment from the Thanks So Very Much stamp set. Look a little closer, and you'll see scored lines on the white background giving it an extra little dimension.

Pam Sparks

Creative Team Member Francince Vuillème spotted Pam's wintry card on her blog. Francine says,  "I like how Pam combined the mitten and the mug (from the Warm Warmth stamp set and Die-namics)! The shades she chose for this card are beautiful, too!" Yes, this card is sure to warm the hearts of any recipient!

Thanks for using MFT, ladies! You've left us inspired, and that's what it's all about! See you tomorrow for another great Sketch Challenge, and look for the next MFT Color Challenge on Thursday, January 28th!

Class Is in Session - Wonderful Watercolors

The weekend is over, and you're itching to get things done, but Mondays are a good time to learn something new. With that, we'd like to welcome you to a brand new series on the MFT Challenge & Inspiration blog — Class Is in Session!

When class is in session, we'll be sharing tutorials and tips to take your craft to the next level. Learning something new can be fun, and it gives you the opportunity to explore fresh concepts and techniques you've been dying to try.

This week we're going to take a look at Wonderful Watercolors!

Adding water to pigment by way of watercoloring creates a very pretty look. The more water you add, the less vibrant the color becomes and vice versa. Incorporating watercolors is definitely a hot trend, and if you're like me, you might be a bit skittish about where to begin. Watching a YouTube video is a great way to learn. You can pause and rewind to your heart's content until you get the information that you need.

Today's video will give you a step by step of how to create pretty watercolor backgrounds. Watch the video below or click HERE to watch on YouTube.

Wasn't that fun? All of a sudden, it doesn't seem as hard as I thought! Make sure to follow the My Favorite Things YouTube channel for more tutorials!

Let's take a look at a few examples of other projects with watercoloring.

Barbara stamps and embosses a background, and the watercolors resist the embossed image.

Kay expertly combines more than one color to create a gorgeous and artsy background. The crisp elements of the rest of her design *shine* against the watercoloring.

Born to Shine Card by Kay Miller featuring the Bling It On stamp set and the Sunny Skies and Stitched Cloud Edges Die-namics #mftstamps

Yoonsun uses the smooshing technique with her watercolors and adds dots of white with a mini-mister for a soft and pretty card.

You’re a Gem Card by Yoonsun Hur featuring the Bling It On stamp set, and the Diamonds, Stitched Heart STAX, Tag Builder Blueprints 5, and Wonky Stitched Rectangle STAX Die-namics #mftstamps

Now it's your turn to create! Be sure to tag #mftstamps when you post your projects online. We can't wait to see what you've made!

Your My Favorite Things Creative Team can't wait to share their inspiring projects using this color palette. Let's see what has been going on in their creative minds.

Anna Kossakovskaya creates an oh-so-pretty design using the Mini Modern Blooms stamp set and Die-namics. Whenever a color combination includes green, it's an easy leap to think floral. The Brick Wall Cover-Up Die-namics creates a great dimensional background for this delicately feminine design.

Barbara Anders dreams up a lovely floral sympathy card in the soothing cool colors of Color Challenge 37. Sometimes with sympathy cards it's difficult to design with lighter colors, but her minimal uses of black with the Grand Peaceful Wildflowers stamp set set against the pretty watercolor background are just right. For more great ideas for sympathy cards, check out this post HERE.

Inge Groot found the colors in a the Subtle Plaids Paper Pack and added fun flags using the Fishtail Flag STAX Die-namics. I love how she added delightful touches with the Whimsical Wishes stamp set for a lot of visual interest.

Jodi Collins inks up the Terrific Ties stamp set for this colorful concoction of a masculine design! Those snazzy bow ties look great in the greens and blues of the color combination!

Julie Dinn's design is a super saturated take on the challenge. I love the deep blue background and the tilted mugs and delightful sentiment are sure to chase away the winter blues! The detail that she created on the mugs with one of the accent stamps from the Undeniable Chemistry stamp set truly adds to the design.
