Welcome to the gateway to the weekend! We hope you've had an amazing week, and now it's time for some fun. Ready to get inspired? Let's do it!
Besides making fun stuff in my craft room, I love fashion. Red carpets, People and Glamour magazine, Project Runway — I'm a sucker for clothes, shoes, and jewelry, and all of the trends that come with fashion. It isn't always about finding something to wear. In many cases my addiction to fashion ends up being inspiration for my next card design.
Often, it's interesting color combinations that spark my interest. Take this dress from French Connection below which I saw featured in an article about Karlie Kloss in People magazine. I ripped out the page and put it in my inspiration pile.
I'm a sucker for colorblocking, so these vibrant colors paired with the geometric structure of the dress caught my eye. I especially love the strong lines paired with the soft lace and pleats to balance the whole look.
I knew that there were some My Favorite Things card stocks and Die-namics that would be exactly what I needed to create a card based on the dress.
I went for simple, graphic, and bold when I created my card. A couple of cuts with the largest Wonky Stitched Rectangle STAX and the Love Die-namics and a simple stamped and embossed sentiment made this design fly together. Sometimes all you need is a little inspiration to make something fun!
So, then next time you're shopping, perusing Pinterest, or even looking through your closet, use the inspiration that you find there to create something unexpectedly colorful and FUN!
