As the weekend approaches, many of us have plans to do something creative in the next few days, but sometimes we struggle with where to begin. The week may have been busy, but maybe you had some time here and there to scroll through social media catching up on what's going on in the world.
Whenever I have a few minutes, you'll find me scrolling through Instagram. Through pretty pictures and a few words, we can be transported all over the world!
Occasionally I'll stumble upon a particularly inspiring IGer. One of my favorites is Rosie Clayton (rclayton on Instagram). Her Instagram feed is just my style — filled with vibrant colors and patterns. When I saw this photo below, I nearly ran down to the craft room right that instant!
All of those vibrant colors called to me, and I knew that there were some My Favorite Things stamps and Die-namics that would be exactly what I needed to create a card based on the image.
With the Four Way Chevron Cover-Up, I was able to cut thin lines in various card stock colors at just the right angle, and the striped patterned paper from the Dots & Stripes Neutral Paper Pack gave me just the look I was going for. I even tried to imitate the text in the inspiration photo with the you're stamp from the Label Maker Sentiments stamp set.
So, then next time you're scrolling through Instagram, be sure to take a screenshot of inspiring cards and images. Create an inspiration album, and then the next time you're ready to create, see what sort of inspiration you've gathered throughout the week!
Be sure to follow the My Favorite Things Instagram account for boundless creative ideas. We'd love to have you join us! If you find yourself inspired, and you use My Favorite Things products, be sure to use #mftstamps when posting on Instagram so that we can see what you're making.
Here's to a creative weekend!
