Wednesday Sketch Challenge - Sketch 289

It's time for another fun sketch from the My Favorite Things Challenge & Inspiration Blog! Enjoy creating with this interesting horizontal sketch.

Below you'll find Sketch 289. Create cards, scrapbook layouts, home decor, treat containers, mixed media, etc. using this week's sketch and be sure to link your project below for a chance at the weekly My Favorite Things Gift Voucher worth up to $20.

The My Favorite Things Creative Team has been busy getting creative! Let's see what they have up their sleeves for Sketch 289!

Handmade card from Keeway Tsao featuring Rainbow of Happines stamp set, Transparent Triangles Background stamp, Radiant Sun, Puffy Clouds, Snow Drifts Cover-Up, Laina Lamb Design Stitched Alphabet and Blueprints 27 Die-namics #mftstamps

How cool is Keeway's curvy interpretation of the sketch? She used the Snow Drifts Cover-Up Die-namics and pretty pastels set against a Transparent Triangle background. I love how juicy the sun looks! And look how perfectly it follows the sketch. Inspiring!

Handmade card from Anna Kossakovskaya featuring Pure Innocence Fun in the Sun stamp set and Die-namics and Blueprints 27 Die-namics #mftstamps

The lines on the raft, the beach ball, and the sentiment all from the Fun in the Sun stamp set are a fun interpretation of the sketch! Scroll up and look at the sketch again to see how Anna was inspired to create this sweet and sunny design.

Join me in welcoming back Jenn Shurkus as our Guest Designer this month!

Let's see how Jenn interpreted this week's sketch:

Jenn kept the focal point of the sketch horizontal but made the card base vertical for her take on the sketch. The banner with her sentiment grounds her colorful use of the Happy Birthday to You Die-namics and the Transparent Triangles Background stamp. You can see that the rainbow colors she's employed artfully mimic the segmented nature of the main panel of the sketch. Primo!

Handmade card from Torico featuring Because You stamp set, Roses All Over Background stamp, Laina Lamb Design Hip Clips and Blueprints 27 Die-namics #mftstamps

Oh my goodness, Torico's design is so DREAMY! The panel with lines is represented by her gorgeous watercolored panel using the Roses All Over Background stamp which she then cut into sections. The circles in the sketch are replaced with butterflies. Simply stunning.

Handmade card from Barbara Anders featuring Lisa Johnson Designs Fly-By Friends stamp set and Die-namics, Twice the Thanks, Inside & Out Stitched Rectangle STAX, and Tag Builder Blueprints 4 Die-namics #mftstamps

Barbara's shaker card couldn't "bee" cuter! The main panel of the sketch is a shaker card backed by patterned paper from the Thick & Thin Paper Pack. Pretty clever, huh? And her sequin choices are PERFECT with the bees from the Fly-By Friends stamp set and Die-namics.

Handmade card from Karolyn Loncon featuring Birdie Brown Birthday Bears stamp set, Happy Birthday to You, Birthday Balloons, Blueprints 15, and Blueprints 30 Die-namics #mftstamps

Saturated colors and a graphic look dominate Karolyn's energetic design! The strong black background shows off the rainbow colored strips, and balloons take the place of the circles in the sketch. Magnificent!

Handmade card from Julia Stainton featuring Inside & Out Stitched Stars, Thanks & Hello, Blueprints 20, and Blueprints 29 Die-namics #mftstamps

Julia replaces the circles with stars and then draws her color inspiration from her patterned papers. Die cut flags from our Blueprints Die-namics make a big impact in no time at all. I love how Julia has layered and staggered the flags for a less rigid take on the sketch.
