Hi, fellow MFT lovers!
Back in early November, I hinted that something new might be on the horizon — and now feels like the perfect time to share the first (and very meaningful) next step.
Many of you have expressed interest in bringing back our weekly challenges, and I have to admit… my heart skipped a beat. Not just because of the excitement around the challenges themselves, but because of the love that still exists for MFT. The unraveling of MFT was deeply painful — mostly because of how it affected others — and it took me a long while to find my footing and feel confident again.
Then, after things had mostly wrapped up last year, I began to feel little sparks of creativity returning from a place I had turned away from. On the professional front, that place was the industry and community I had known, loved, and built my livelihood around for nearly two decades. What was a girl to do but follow those stirrings from a healing heart and see where they might lead?
So… that brings me to this:
Starting Wednesday, February 4th — our challenges are back!
I gave myself plenty of time to sit with this decision. I made lists of what I loved most about MFT and the ways in which I had felt burned out, and a pattern emerged. What I loved lived on the creative side (no surprise there): designing products, connecting with customers, feeling proud of the years of magic that were built, and — in no small part — the incredible relationships formed with some of the most loving, interesting, wildly intelligent people I’ve been lucky to know (and more than once, my port in the storm).
I also reflected on how I want my work life to look now — from a slightly older, hopefully wiser perspective — and how to build something that offers both joy and flexibility. But more on that soon.
For now, I am as pleased as a squirrel who just found her missing acorn to announce once again:
Starting Wednesday, February 4th — our challenges are back!
Here’s how it will work:
• Each Wednesday a new challenge will be posted on this blog.
• A winner from the previous week will be announced at the same time.
• Challenges will run from Wednesday through the following Tuesday.
• We’ll alternate between Color and Sketch Challenges, just like before.
• Each post will include a link for uploading your cards.
• And yes — the prize remains the same: a $25 gift voucher!
(Be honest… you’re already thinking about what you’ll spend it on, aren’t you? Followed by — wait… does that mean you’ll be coming out with new products?! 🤩)
Be sure to bookmark this site, as this is where all challenges and winners will be posted each week.
That’s enough homework for now, don’t you think? 😊
Hugs,
Kim
