We're welcoming Amy back to the Challenge blog with her take on this week's sketch.

Amy used the strip across the center of the sketch to create her colorful, rainbow greeting. We love that she cut off the sentiment strip from the Happy Birthday Balloon Trio die and paired it with the individual die cut balloons - such a great way to use the die in a  completely unexpected way!

Donna included a gorgeous blend of color on her design as well by creating a stunning rainbow colored city skyline. The colors blend together beautifully and provide a vibrant landscape to perfectly complement her sentiment strip.

Why stop at two rainbows when we can have three? :) Julie opted to create an entire background of stunning color with alcohol inks and foil. She kept the focus on the incredible color by only adding a simple die cut sentiment cut from black cardstock to the design.

You've Been Spotted - July 10, 2018

Each week we see fantastic projects featuring My Favorite Things product, and we're always so thrilled to see what our customers and followers are creating!

Today, we'd like to shine the spotlight on some awesome projects that have caught our attention in another edition of You've Been Spotted If you see your project featured, feel free to post this image on your blog and link to this post to show the world that you were spotted by My Favorite Things!

Monica Mybonnetbee

Monica created a gorgeous watercolor escape for her stunning mermaid and added detail to the water with sequins scattered about. Adding the sun rays shining down creates such a beautiful effect and helps to emphasize the sweet moment between two aquatic friends.

Arlene Rose

Birthday's and color always go together, especially when it involves balloons. Arlene designed a festive rainbow background with the Big Balloons stencil before adding her sentiment on top. We love that she used the negative of the die cut sentiment to let the colorful birthday balloons peek through.

Miesje Flach

This sentiment from Welcome, Baby is the perfect complement to the clothesline of adorable baby clothes that Miesje created with Bundle of Baby Clothes Die-namics. The addition of the stenciled clouds and grass adds a whimsical feel to the entire design - we can almost feel that cool breeze.

Meghan Kennihan

Meghan went bright and bold with the color choices on her card and we love the final result. The rainbow colors carried throughout the entire design provide a cohesive look and adds a fun, playful look to her magical scene.

Angela Rivera

Using a single image to create a repeated pattern is a great way to create an entire background quickly and easily. Angela used the shark image from the Beach Buds stamp set and highlighted one as the focal image by adding small droplets to mimic bubbles.

We're welcoming a brand new guest designer to the Challenge & Inspiration blog. Join us in extending a warm hello to Amy Kolling!

Amy stayed true to the sketch design on her card and created a charming scene featuring the Seaside Seagulls. We love her creative use of the Stitched Rectangle Frames to create the diagonal border that separates her scene from the rest of the card.

Francine went with vibrant, bright colors and created a colorful rainbow with inks and the Geometric Stars stencil. She masked off the bottom to keep the diagonal shape and added a layered sentiment to complete her design.

Debbie incorporated a patterned paper background for the main sketch panel in soft, pastel colors. She added a die cut word and decided to complete her greeting on the left side of the card rather than keeping the sentiment strip on the right.
