One Last Sketch and a Whole Lot Of Love

After many wonderful years of creating, sharing, and celebrating creativity together, it's time to say goodbye. As many of you know, MFT is no longer in existence.

While that could change someday, it isn't the case right now, and with that, it's time to bring the Card Challenges blog to a close.

This blog has always been about more than sketches, color palettes, or techniques. It has been about community. Week after week, you've shared your incredible creativity, encouraged one another, and inspired us with every card you created. Watching your ideas come to life has been an absolute joy.

To everyone who participated in the challenges, left kind comments, cheered on fellow makers, or simply stopped by for inspiration—thank you. Your enthusiasm and support made this little corner of the crafting world something truly special.

Although this chapter is ending, we have one last sketch to share with you, and we know the creativity, friendships, and inspiration we've shared won't disappear. We hope you'll continue creating, experimenting, and encouraging one another wherever your crafting journey takes you.
Of course, we have a couple of gorgeous samples to share with you, and I hope you'll continue to follow and be a fan of the incredible ladies who've made time to share their talent with all of you.

Thank you for being part of the Card Challenges community. It has been a privilege to share this journey with you.

Wishing you all the very best, and happy crafting.

With gratitude,

The Card Challenges Team

Card Challenges Sketch Challenge #12

Happy Wednesday, crafty friends! It's time for another Card Challenges Sketch Challenge, and we have a fun new layout to inspire your creativity!

This week's sketch is clean, modern, and incredibly versatile. With a bold vertical panel, a slim accent strip, and a large circular focal point, there are so many ways to make it your own. Use the circle to showcase a stamped image, floral arrangement, shaker element, sentiment, or even a fun die-cut scene. Whether your style is clean and simple or full of layers and embellishments, this sketch is the perfect starting point.

Need a little inspiration? Try:

  • Replacing the circle with another shape like a heart or hexagon.
  • Rotating the sketch for a landscape card.
  • Using patterned papers to create a bold background.
  • Adding texture with embossing folders or mixed media.

Remember, the sketch is meant to inspire—not limit—your creativity! We love seeing all the unique interpretations our participants come up with each week.

How to Play

Create a new card inspired by this sketch and link it using the InLinkz tool below. You can also share your project on social media using #CardChallengesSketch12 so everyone can admire your beautiful creation.

The challenge will remain open through Tuesday at 11:59 PM (ET). One randomly selected participant will be invited to be featured in next week's post, so be sure to play along!

We can't wait to see what you create. Most importantly, have fun and enjoy some crafty time!

Happy crafting!

πŸŽ‰ Congratulations to Our Sketch Challenge #11 Winner!

Congratulations to Stacey's Creative Corner for her wonderful take on last week's sketch! Stacey's charming belated birthday card featured a delightful mix of patterned papers, soft layers, and an adorable focal image that perfectly showcased the versatility of the sketch. The thoughtful details and balanced composition made her project a standout, and we're thrilled to feature it as this week's winning card.

Be sure to stop by Stacey's blog to see all the details behind her beautiful creation and leave her some crafty love!

This week, we are also featuring Jeanne with this adorable fox card!

One last bit of news: we will be discontinuing the weekly challenges at the end of this month. July 29th will be our last challenge upload. There truly is a wealth of different challenges on the site. Enough that you'd never be able to go through them all LOL. For the post on July 29th, I will feature the winner the following week, just not a new challenge as usual.

Big hugs,
Kim

πŸ’‘ A Little Inspiration
If you’re feeling stuck, try starting with one of these simple approaches:
    •    create a soft background using ink blending or watercolor
    •    pop your focal image up with foam for quick dimension
    •    add a small cluster of embellishments to balance your sentiment
Sometimes just choosing one technique can make the whole design come together.

Deborah's card instantly put a smile on my face! I love how she masked her image to create something completely new. It makes my heart skip a beat!!

I LOVE how Rebecca incorporated the colors into the design. It's colorful, yet not overwhelming.  Five stars in my book!

Lastly, Candice created this adorable card and used each of the colors in an ingenious fashion to create a fantastic card. I think I could stare at it all day!
