I had the chance to get creative this past weekend, and I wanted to share where I find my inspiration.
Of course there is the Wednesday Sketch Challenge! I thought I'd tackle Sketch 211 like many of you have. I don't have every single die ever made, but that didn't stop me. I took a look at the dies that I do have, and decided that I would need to get inventive.
The closest I could come to the oval shape was the Die-namics Mason Jar Mug. And since it isn't huge, I opted to make a smaller card (it's 3 1/2" by 4") so that it wouldn't look odd swimming in the middle of an A2 sized card. The handle on the mug was throwing off the symmetry of the sketch, so I simply snipped it off. The knot in my ribbon serves as the heart in the sketch. Can I say that I am SO in love with that little citrus die?
Another thing I find inspiring is new (to me) product and the time of year. With Valentine's Day approaching quickly, I wanted to make a card appropriate for the season, and I also wanted to bust out the Proof Positive Cover-up Die-namics. This one is an inlaid die cutter's dream - TOTALLY flat, which will be perfect for mailing.
Stamp sets inspire me, too! I've had the Laina Lamb Designs Document It - Rock On stamp set for some time. As a former lead singer for a band, lover of music, and wanna be rock star, I knew I wanted to ink up this set. And seriously. Rock horns? Too cool not to use. \m/ \m/ This one was made with my brother in mind who is the bassist for a popular band in Central New York State. I know he'll appreciate the sentiment and even the little bit of sparkle.
I hope you are feeling inspired, too, because that's what this blog is all about!
