Wednesday Sketch Challenge - Sketch 212

I hope you're having fun with the Wednesday Sketch Challenges here at the MFT Challenge & Inspiration blog! We are so happy to see you here and are excited to see new faces joining us, too!

We're at it again this week with Sketch 212. Create cards, scrapbook layouts, home decor, treat containers, mixed media, etc. using this week's sketch and be sure to link your project below for a chance at the weekly My Favorite Things Gift Voucher worth up to $20.

Once again, our talented Challenge Team has been busy coming up with great cards based on this sketch. It's time to reveal their interpretations.

Alice's sweet and powerful card begins with her fantastically colored image, but what really makes this design shine is her slanted lines. You'll also notice that the more saturated colors in the caped cutie help her to stand out against the less saturated background.

Though Erin's sophisticated card is vertical, everything else about it is spot on with the sketch — the scallops at the bottom, the margins, and the line through the middle. And OHHHH, those pretty poppies!

Jill's card is making me dream of lazy summer Saturdays by the pool! How cute is her focal point with the citrus nestled behind vellum and the jaunty striped straw? Her signature stitching at the bottom alludes to the scallop in the sketch.

Miriam's delicious card is a rhapsody in pinks! Pair those pinks with chocolately brown, and it becomes the perfect design for a Valentine card. You can see that she focuses her attention on the core line of the sketch creating a delightful and simple ombre with card stock strips.

In true Vera style, this card oozes with sweetness. Her white on white card base with the sweet scallops at the bottom allow the adorable little girl to shine. While the sentiment isn't in-your-face Valentine, this card is an appropriate way to show someone how grateful you are.

Veronica's card feels so familiar and comfy. She enlarged the oval feature of the sketch and added the scallop at the bottom, but her approach strays from the sketch in the best of ways. Staying true to her feminine style, she adds homey stitching, a pretty bow, and a simple image that tugs at the heartstrings.

You have until Tuesday, January 27, at noon EST to add your link and be eligible for the prize of up to $20 in MFT Cash to be spent in the MFT boutique. Winners are chosen at random, so everyone has a chance! The weekly prize is a $15 Gift Voucher to My Favorite Things, but if you use MFT stamps and/or dies in your project, you’ll receive an extra $5.

We'll also occasionally feature cool interpretations of the sketch on the blog and giving shout outs to fun, unique, and noteworthy projects. Who knows? You might be SPOTTED! Share your cards on Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook using the hashtag #mftstamps.

Congratulations, Carisa! You are the randomly selected winner of last week’s sketch challenge. You can view all the entries for last week’s challenge HERE.
