Hey, hey! It's Wednesday, and we're here with another Wednesday Sketch Challenge at the MFT Challenge & Inspiration blog!
Below you'll find Sketch 215. Create cards, scrapbook layouts, home decor, treat containers, mixed media, etc. using this week's sketch and be sure to link your project below for a chance at the weekly My Favorite Things Gift Voucher worth up to $20.
We're so glad to have Guest Designer Laura Williams with us again this week!
Laura is the mother of two active boys and wife to a Methodist minister. She went to college to be an art teacher but after her internship decided that wasn't what she wanted to do after all. She ended up teaching preschool and 2nd and 3rd grade before her kids were born, and she loved it!
Laura made magic again this week with Sketch 215 and newly released product from My Favorite Things. Take a look at her sweet project!
Laura chose to scoot the focal circle to the left and ground it on the cardstock seam between the orange and white. I love the coloring she's done on the pretty tulips, and the vellum circle and flag bring a delicate touch to her design.
Our Challenge Team kind of blows me away every week. They are so talented, don't you agree? Here's where their creative minds took them this week.
Alice was very interpretive with the sketch this week. LOVE that! She went with a doily for the circle and the sentiment is on a flag. The thick line at the left of the sketch appears at the top of her card. It's flights of creativity like this that make sketches so versatile and card making so fun!
Could you just die from the cuteness of the bunny from the Somebunny set? And the children's book illustration look that Erin Lee created is absolutely sweet. Her fun-filled circle shaker adds to the adorable nature of this springy card. I love how that patterns on the left add a nice weight to this design.
If you've been paying attention, Jill doesn't tend to stick to the sketch. Her adventurous nature seems to play with the possibilities every single time! This time it's pretty close, but she did move the circle to the top. Juicy colors and a funny sentiment from the Level Up stamp set make this a cheeky little number.
Super creative Miriam went with the sketch, but she made some stamping magic using the You Have My Heart set. If you look at the set, there is only one dog, and he (she?) faces left. Miriam used the mirror stamping technique to create the dog facing right. Talk about a great way to extend the use of your stamp set!
Mmmmm, Wednesday is a good day for a donut, isn't it? Vera is tantalizing our tastebuds with this sugary looking concoction. Even her background, which she created with a stencil, looks good enough to eat. A perfect rendition of the sketch!
Veronica channeled her inner rock chick today! She saw the circle in the sketch as the perfect opportunity to try out the new Headphone Die-namics. The colorful circles on the left led her to a punchy look for this card that would be great for some super cool girl! The musical notes in Grout Gray are the perfect finishing touch.
We'll also occasionally feature cool interpretations of the sketch on the blog and give shout outs to fun, unique, and noteworthy projects. Who knows? You might be SPOTTED! Share your cards on Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook using the hashtag #mftstamps.
