Wednesday Sketch Challenge - Sketch 233

June just seems to be flying by, but our creative challenges are here to stay! We're excited to have you with us again for another awesome MFT Sketch Challenge.

Below you'll find Sketch 233. Create cards, scrapbook layouts, home decor, treat containers, mixed media, etc. using this week's sketch and be sure to link your project below for a chance at the weekly My Favorite Things Gift Voucher worth up to $20.

Joscelyne Cutchens, our June Guest Designer is back again bringing us her fresh designs.

Joscelyne (her friends call Joscie - that rhymes with bossy) is a bit of a crafty entrepreneur. In addition to being a mom, wife, and friend, she's also the mastermind behind Bossy Joscie Crafty Goods. She designs many creative products including flat backed flair and fun digital scrapbooking kits among other things. This girl certainly is blessed with the creative gene!

Let's look at how she interpreted this week's MFT Sketch for our weekly challenge:

Panda with Balloons Card by Joscelyne Cutchens featuring the Miss Tiina Happy Pandas stamp set and Die-namics #mftstamps

Joscelyne turned the sketch 90° this week. The bouquet of balloons takes the place of the circle in the sketch, and the flag she created anchors the Happy Panda as he floats up into the sky. The Fresh Cut Grass Die-namics completes the scene showing that he is truly floating up into the sky.

The Challenge Team is at it again. Let's see how they interpreted Sketch 233!

Abstract Penguin Card by Alice Wertz featuring the Birdie Brown Penquins in Paradise stamp set and Die-namics and the Abstract Cover-Up Die-namics #mftstamps

Alice created an awesome stencil using the Abstract Cover-Up Die-namics to serve as a cool and colorful background. The simplicity of this sketch is perfect for playing with the setting for the main elements of the circle and flag.

How They Shine for You Card by Erin Lee Schreiner featuring the Laina Lamb Designs Count the Stars stamp set and Stars & Wishes and Lucky Stars Die-namics #mftstamps

Erin Lee gives her sentiment top billing by combining the Stars & Wishes Die-namics with the Count the Stars stamp set. She accented her design with the Lucky Stars Die-namics all set against a colorful background.

Television Stars Card by Jill Dewey Hawkins featuring the Laina Lamb Designs Count the Stars stamp set and Die-namics and Television Die-namics #mftstamps

Jill made the horizontal sketch vertical. Her background becomes a fun and funky constellation by using the Count the Stars stamp set. And instead of the circle in the sketch, she features the Television Die-namics playing off the idea of the stars that appear on the small screen. Pretty rad.

Be Yourself Card by Miriam Prantner featuring the Friends Like Us stamp set, Photo Booth Props Die-namics, and Scattered Bars stencil #mftstamps

Miriam's card is a direct interpretation of the sketch but what fun she had creating it! The artistic background and silly face she created using the Photo Booth Props Die-namics make for such a whimsical design perfect for the jokester in your life. And that sentiment from the Friends Like Us stamp set is just the right finishing touch. No wonder Miriam counts this set as one of her favorites! Here for You Card by Vera Wirianta Yates featuring the Modern Blooms stamp set and Die-namics and the Lisa Johnson Designs Whimsical Wishes stamp set #mftstamps

Vera shows the endless possibilities of this sketch. Card base + pretty background + floral focal point + sentiment = lovely card to send to a friend. If you have an image stamp set that you love (like Modern Blooms shown here), this sketch allows you to feature it!

Gold Star Butterfly Card by Veronica Zalis featuring the Laina Lamb Designs Count the Stars stamp set and Flutter of Butterflies - Lace Die-namics #mftstamps

Seems like our design team was inspired by the Watercolor Blog Hop hosted by Pretty Pink Posh earlier this month! Veronica's artistic watercolor background sets the scene for her enchanting design. The striking black butterfly from the Flutter of Butterflies - Lace Die-namics set is a stand out.

  2. Greta it was probably as crazy looking as mine when I finally figured out that Deana Boston was actually me Deana Benson when I clicked on the name to see what the card look like that won. I was kind of suspicious since not very many people spell it like I do.I was super stoked and exstatic when I realized it was me.congratulations Greta.
