Wednesday Sketch Challenge - Sketch 245

It's sketch challenge time again. Frame up something cute using this simple sketch — the possibilities are endless! We have some special guests joining us today from StampNation. Read on for more information.

Below you'll find Sketch 245. Create cards, scrapbook layouts, home decor, treat containers, mixed media, etc. using this week's sketch and be sure to link your project below for a chance at the weekly My Favorite Things Gift Voucher worth up to $20.

Lindsay Amrhein is with us again as our September Guest Designer! Let's learn a little more about her.

Lindsay considers herself an outdoorsy girl. She loves camping, hiking, swimming, and biking, and her family includes a cat and a rabbit. I'm going to wager a guess that she's going to miss doing all of these fun things with her family once the harsh Ohio winter arrives on her doorstep. I guess she'll just have to stay inside and make more pretty cards!

Let's see how Lindsay interpreted this week's sketch:

'Ello Card by Lindsay Amrhein featuring the London Mouse stamp set and Die-namics and the London Skyline Die-namics #mftstamps

Square sketch 245 gives you the freedom to feature just about anything inside the frame. Lindsay chose the London Skyline Die-namics as the background of her scene using the London Mouse stamp set and Die-namics. I love how she cut the skyline from vellum — super subtle and pretty.

The Challenge Team is at it again with inspiring creations. Let's see how they interpreted Sketch 245!

Harvest Hello Card by Alice Wertz featuring the BIrdie Brown Harvest Mouse stamp set and Die-namics #mftstamps

Alice clips together several colorful squares with a wooden clothespin to feature the oh-so-sweet mouse from the Harvest Mouse stamp set. The simple sentiment from the Label Maker Sentiments appears in the same spot as the sketch, and the washi tape behind it anchors it perfectly.

Bold Hug You Card by Erin Lee Schreiner featuring the True Friends and Fall Florals stamp set and the Brick Wall Cover-Up Die-namics #mftstamps

Erin Lee stretches the square sketch into a vertical card to show off a vibrant brick wall created with the Brick Wall Cover-Up Die-namics. The Fall Florals stamp set gives off a trendy vibe with Erin Lee's bold color choices.

So Grateful Card by Jill Dewey Hawkins featuring the Thanks so Much and Fall Florals stamp sets and the Stitched Fishtail Frames Die-namics #mftstamps
Jill elongated the sketch, too, and substituted the Stitched Fishtail Frames for the square in the sketch. She started with tone on tone stamping with the Fall Florals stamp set, and then featured more colorful flowers in the center of her design. Her addition of Wild Wisteria to the bouquet takes the color scheme out of a purely traditional autumnal palette.

Harvest of Blessings Card by Miriam Prantner featuring the Birdie Brown Harvest Mouse stamp set #mftstamps

Miriam frames up a scene that looks like it came straight out of a storybook using the Harvest Mouse stamp set. Since Miriam is thinking fall, it makes sense that the sketch took her in this direction, but if you pull this sketch out in mid-February, it would be a whole new design. You gotta love that! So pin this sketch and come back to it again and again.

Fall Mouse Shaker Card by Vera Wirianta Yates featuring the Birdie Brown Harvest Mouse stamp set and Die-namics and the Lisa Johnson Designs Jumbo Peek-a-Boo Circle Windows Die-namics #mftstamps

The middle of the sketch gave Vera the inspiration for the circular shaker she created to highlight the mouse from the Harvest Mouse stamp set. The beads and sequins carry out the theme of falling leaves behind the joyous little mouse.

I Pick You Card by Veronica Zalis featuring the Birdie Brown Harvest Mouse stamp set and Die-namics and the Fall Florals stamp set and Die-namics #mftstamps

Veronica keeps the center of her card like the sketch but makes it a vertical card. Her combination of the Harvest Mouse and Fall Florals stamp sets paired with the soft gingham patterned paper lend such a sweetness to her design.
