If you're looking for inspiration and a jumping off point in your creative endeavors, then you've landed in just the right spot! We've got another great sketch to get you started.
Lindsay Amrhein is at it again as our September Guest Designer! It's been a pleasure having her with us this month, and we'll get to see even more from her next week on September 30th!
It's a known fact that Lindsay makes some pretty awesome cards, but did you know that she scrapbooks, too? If you follow this link to her blog, you can see an array of inspiring pages that she has created and shared. One thing that's great about ANY sketch is that with a little imagination you can create cards, scrapbook layouts, tags, and even home decor from them. We love seeing our sketches used in innovative ways!
Let's see how Lindsay interpreted this week's sketch:
For this week's sketch, Lindsay used the Stitched Cover-Up Companion - Vertical Die-namics since the shape of it fits the sketch so perfectly! She chose to place the bold sentiment in the large space at the top of the sketch and features pretty pastel flowers from the Fall Florals stamp set and Die-namics along the belly of the sketch. The lower section of the Cover-Up Die-namics makes for a PERFECT shaker card. Want to learn how to create a shaker card? Check out this video on the MFT YouTube Channel.
The Challenge Team is at it again with inspiring creations. Let's see how they interpreted Sketch 247!
Alice's subtle tone on tone card base and panel make for a simple background to feature the stunning flowers from the Delicate Pretty Poppies stamp set. The jauntily tied hemp creates the line that appears in the sketch and the bit of doily stands in for the small banner at the top.
Erin Lee went a little wild with the sketch by featuring the Cheetah background stamp. She keeps the banner at the top of the sketch with her sentiment but eliminates the band at the middle. Totally kosher! With all of that color, she didn't want to cover it up!
Jill turned the sketch on its side but kept the feel of it with the banner and the Stitched Rectangle Frames Die-namics. Jill's use of the New York Skyline Die-namics creates a definite mood. Jill and Erin's cards have a lot of similiarities, but put them side by side, and they have totally different looks and moods. Love that about sketches.
Miriam didn't let the frame box her in! It's there, but she choose to let her gorgeously stamped, embossed, and watercolored Etched Flower Background stamp dominate her design. The black strip with the gold embossed sentiment gives this card an über sophisticated feel.
When looking at Vera's card, you can see that she uses the sketch as the basic framework for her lovely card. The banner at the top, the margin around the outside, and the band across the middle with her sentiment are all there. Her design gets its zing from the lavish bouquet of flowers that she created using the Fall Foliage and Fall Florals stamp sets and Die-namics.

Veronica adds a whole lot of texture and depth in her interpetation of this week's sketch with various Die-namics. Her colorful bird from the Birds of Paradise set perches dramatically on the sentiment strip and the pretty hibiscus takes the place of the banner in her tropical scene. My favorite part of this design? How the Wild Greenery oozes outside the lines, because it's a jungle out there!
