You've Been Spooky Spotted - October 27, 2015

Each week we see fantastic projects featuring My Favorite Things product, and we're always so thrilled to see what our customers and followers are creating!

Today, we'd like to shine the spotlight on some awesome projects that have caught our attention in another edition of  You've Been Spotted. Sit a spell and get ready to ooooooh and aaaaah over some of the cool designs we've noticed recently.

If you see your project featured, feel free to post this image on your blog and link to this post to show the world that you were spotted by My Favorite Things!

This week, we feature five fun, cute, and sometimes a wee bit disturbing cards to celebrate Halloween. Enjoy the creativity of these talented ladies!

Nikki Foraker (@nikkiforaker on Instagram)

MFT Graphics Guru Laina Lamb spotted this spook-tacular creation on Instagram. You sure can tell that Nikki had a blast morphing our sweet Hawaiian princess from the Polynesian Paradise stamp set into a walker à la The Walking Dead. As Nikki says on her blog, "Remember [my] sweet hula girl? Well, she has had a rough few days. Her parrot friend flew off, and she met with an unfortunate end. Here is what she looks like now." And Happy ALOHAlloween? Too clever!

Keeway Tsao

Challenge Team Member Jill Dewey Hawkins spotted Keeway's clever card in the MFT Flickr Group (c'mon and join us there!). Keeway took stamps from the super sweet Somebunny stamp set to create this macabre yet incredibly awesome Halloween card. As Jill says, "SO creative and full of Halloween fun!"

Becky Noelle

I spotted Becky's card as an entry in our Sketch 249 challenge. I love how she chose a slightly more purple version of the Pantone color of the year — Marsala. I guess what really caught my eye was her non-traditional Halloween colors making this card stick out in a really good way! And her coloring on the Witch Way is the Candy? stamp set is really well done, too.

Jessa Feig (@jessafeig on Instagram)

*warning - this one is pretty crazy*

Design Team Member Teri Anderson and I spotted this HILARIOUS and more than slightly disturbing card on Instagram. Jessa created her super creepy design using the sweet and adorable Birdie Brown Birthday Bears and You Gnome Me stamp sets. She and her friends appear to have a running challenge called Morbider Montags (Morbid Mondays) where they alter perfectly sweet stamps into shocking situations. The sentiment reads, "To us!" I wonder if gnome tastes like chicken? Hee hee.

*OK - Let's cleanse your palate with something sweet to close this out!*

Vanessa Menhorn

MFT Founder Kim van der Sanden spotted Vanessa's sweet and bright card as an entry for the Card Design Superstar Contest. It's fun and not at all scary and so fresh and colorful! Vanessa was able to expertly use a whole slew of the small stamps from the Frightfully Fun Halloween stamp set and Die-namics for this energetic collage of Halloween icons.

Thanks for using MFT, ladies! You've left us inspired, and that's what it's all about! See you tomorrow for the next Sketch Challenge, and look for a new MFT Color Challenge Thursday, November 12!

Which design is your favorite this week? Be sure to leave these ladies some love. And who knows? You might be spotted sometime soon!

  5. Most creative cards done with squeaky clean stamps - LOVE THEM! Would love to see more "tongue in cheek" cards done! There is a vast market out there for this zanyness! Kudos, MFT, for bringing these to light!
