Wednesday Sketch Challenge - Sketch 258

Hello, creative friend! It's so good to have you here with us again this week. We hope you'll take a few minutes out of your busy schedule to enjoy abundant inspiration!

Below you'll find Sketch 258. Create cards, scrapbook layouts, home decor, treat containers, mixed media, etc. using this week's sketch and be sure to link your project below for a chance at the weekly My Favorite Things Gift Voucher worth up to $20.

It's so fun to have Amber Kemp-Gerstel with us again at the
MFT Challenge and Inspiration blog as our December Guest Designer!

Here are a few fun things about Amber, as she describes herself on her blog:

  • If you ever meet me, I’m a hugger – not a handshaker. I’m a laugher.
  • I spend way too much money at Target but I’ll never shop at Michael’s or Hobby Lobby unless I have a coupon.
  • Carbs are my favorite food group with a particular penchant for the french fry and biscuit variety.
  • Best song to sing at the top of my lungs? Alone by Heart. Hands down. {I'm with you on that one, Amber!}
Let's see how Amber interpreted this week's sketch:

Joy Card by Amber Kemp-Gerstel featuring the Bright Lights Alphabet, Leafy Greenery, and Stitched Mini Scallop Circle STAX Die-namics #mftstamps

When it comes to this time of year, it's not surprising that Amber envisions a festive Christmas wreath when looking at Sketch 258. Amber combines several Die-namics (Bright Lights Alphabet, Stitched Mini Scallop Circle STAX, and Leafy Greenery) to concoct this delightful yet simple Christmas card.

The Challenge Team is at it again with inspiring creations. Let's see how they interpreted Sketch 258!

Amazing Elephant Card by Alice Wertz featuring the Birdie Brown Adorable Elephants stamp set and the Doubly Amazing and Stitched Arch STAX Die-namics #mftstamps

I love what Alice has done here using the rectangle of the sketch as inspiration for a bold sentiment using the Doubly Amazing Die-namics. The circle is the perfect spot to feature one of the cutie pie elephants from the brand new Adorable Elephants stamp set.

Floral Amazing Card by Erin Lee Schreiner featuring the Amazing stamp set, Tropical Flowers stamp set and Die-namics, Watercolor Stripes Background stamp, and the Doubly Amazing Die-namics #mftstamps

Erin Lee notches her main panel on the right rather than the left and situates the focal point to the right. It's fun to take a sketch and tweak it any way you like! And what a lovely bouquet she created with the brand new Tropical Flowers stamp set and Die-namics.

Freaking Amazing Card by Jill Dewey Hawkins featuring the Amazing stamp set and the Pierced Square Frames and Stitched Hexagon STAX Die-namics #mftstamps
Jill squares up the sketch with a neutral backdrop to let her inventive and colorful die cutting shine. What a fun way to play with the brand new Stitched Hexagon STAX Die-namics! Quite a departure from the sketch, but when the result is this fun, who cares?

Birthday Elephant Card by Miriam Prantner featuring the Birdie Brown Adorable Elephants, Santa's Elves, and Birthday Bears stamp sets and the Pinking Edge Circle STAX Die-namics #mftstamps
Miriam follows the sketch closely with her super duper sweet card featuring an elephant from the brand new Adorable Elephants stamp set. I just LOVE how she swipes one of the Christmas gifts from the Santa's Elves stamp set to sub in for a birthday gift. Such a savvy way to use a holiday stamp set all year long!

Tons of Fun Card by Vera Wirianta Yates featuring the Birdie Brown Adorable Elephants stamp set and Die-namics and the Lisa Johnson Designs Jumbo Peek-a-Boo Circle Windows Die-namics #mftstamps

Vera loves to make shaker cards, and this sketch is the perfect opportunity to do just that! Her soft color palette with the Adorable Elephants stamp set give this design an extra dose of cute!

Fabulous Pink Card by Veronica Zalis featuring the Laina Lamb Design Tickled Pink stamp set and the Tropical Flowers stamp set and Die-namics #mftstamps

Veronica's version of the sketch is a layered and textural dream with a canvas panel that makes the design soft with the gorgeous flowers and leaves from the brand new Tropical Flowers stamp set and Die-namics. Switch up a couple of elements like the sentiment and the color choice, and this would make a fantastic Christmas greeting!
