Wednesday Sketch Challenge - Sketch 286

It's time for another fun sketch from the My Favorite Things Challenge & Inspiration Blog! This one looks like a sunset or a sunrise, depending on the time of day.

Below you'll find Sketch 286. Create cards, scrapbook layouts, home decor, treat containers, mixed media, etc. using this week's sketch and be sure to link your project below for a chance at the weekly My Favorite Things Gift Voucher worth up to $20.

The My Favorite Things Creative Team has been busy getting creative! Let's see what they have up their sleeves for Sketch 286!

Handmade card from Jodi Collins featuring Laina Lamb Design Perk Up stamp set and Coffee Cup Die-namics, Stitched Circle STAX and Lisa Johnson Designs All My Love Die-namics #mftstamps

Jodi's perky card is filled with delicious detail with bits of sparkle and lots of pink. The Perk Up stamp set is mighty fine for your coffee loving gal pals. What a fun interpretation of the sketch!

Handmade card from Amy Lee featuring Birdie Brown Polynesian Paradise and Pure Innocence Fun in the Sun stamp sets and Die-namics, Blueprints 27 and Blueprints 29 Die-namics #mftstamps

Amy concentrated on the horizontal rectangle of the sketch and turned it on its side. The beach ball from the Fun in the Sun stamp set is a nod to the circle of the sketch. What a delightful summery design with the interactive shaker!

Join me in welcoming back Angela Rivera, our Guest Designer this month!

Let's see how Angela interpreted this week's sketch with us:

Handmade card from Angela Rivera featuring Grateful for You and Funky Flowers stamp sets, Pierced Fishtail Flag STAX and Blueprints 29 Die-namics #mftstamps

Angela's soothing color choices are absolutely lovely, and I super LOVE how she die cut the Grateful from the panel that she had stamped with the leaves from the Funky Flowers stamp set. The sentiment was die cut three times and then layered together for dimension, and then Angela added Glossy Accents to make it glisten.

Handmade card from Barbara Anders featuring Distressed Patterns stamp set, Happy Hellos, Stitched Mini Scallop Circle STAX and Circle STAX Set 1 Die-namics #mftstamps

Barbara also turned the sketch on its side for this bold die cut dream of a design. Sometimes all it takes is pairing some of your favorite die cuts and some watercolors to create something wonderful.

Handmade card from Keisha Campbell featuring Lisa Johnson Designs Delicate Pretty Poppies stamp set, Funky Flowers stamp set and Die-namics, Bundles of Blossoms Background and Myriad Dot Background stamps, Stitched Cover-Up Companion - Horizontal Die-namics #mftstamps

When Keisha looked at the sketch, she saw our Stitched Cover-Up Companion - Horizontal Die-namics as the perfect cornerstone for her card. The flora from the Funky Flowers in bold colors stands out on her largely neutral design.

Handmade card from Debbie Olson featuring Sweet Forest Friends stamp set and Die-namics, Vertical Stitched Strips, Birch Trees, Stitched Fishtail Flag STAX, and Blueprints 15 Die-namics #mftstamps

Another vertical version of the sketch comes to us from Debbie. She wanted to feature the Birch Trees Die-namics in the large rectangular portion of the sketch, and an adorable deer from the Sweet Forest Friends stamp set stands in for the circle. Just too darling for words.

Handmade card from Kay Miller featuring Birdie Brown Adorable Butterflies stamp set, Flutter of Butterflies - Lace, Flutter of Butterflies - Solid, Stitched Fancy Flourish, Stitched Mini Scallop Circle STAX, and Pierced Circle STAX Die-namics #mftstamps

Instead of an actual rectangle, Kay creates the illusion of a rectangle with a vibrant splash of watercolors. Then she nestles a gorgeous butterfly against a vivid and colorful circle and adds more white with the Pierced Fancy Flourish. Stunning!
