Wednesday Sketch Challenge - Sketch 213

If it's Wednesday, that means it's time for another Wednesday Sketch Challenge here at the MFT Challenge & Inspiration blog! Our desire is to keep you inspired and creating.

We're at it again this week with Sketch 213. Create cards, scrapbook layouts, home decor, treat containers, mixed media, etc. using this week's sketch and be sure to link your project below for a chance at the weekly My Favorite Things Gift Voucher worth up to $20.

I'm always impressed with how our Challenge Team can all look at the same sketch but still find six unique ways to approach it. It just goes to show that our imaginations can take us anywhere. Let's see what the Challenge Team did this week.

You can tell that Alice is feeling the love this time of year because she substituted a heart for the circle in the sketch and added the I love you sentiment. Use the time of year as inspiration when approaching a sketch.

Erin Lee played with the placement of the circle and also used a heart, but you can see that she moved it up on her card. It still works since the sentiment ends up in the sweet spot. The sweet spot in any design is when a sentiment or design element falls on one of the thirds of a card's design whether it be a line or an intersection. It's pleasing to the eye and creates a sense of balance.

Jill, our die cut wizard, played with color and shapes in the main panel with tag and circles dies. And look closely - the panel behind the tag has subtle texture which she created using a stencil. Her pleated and stitched vellum takes the place of the circle in the sketch.

Sometimes new product inspires your vision. I'm pretty sure Miriam couldn't wait to play with the LLD Lunchbox Die-namics, so when she saw this sketch, she got the brilliant idea to turn the sketch upside down. The result? A playful and energetic card.

The master of cute, Vera sticks pretty closely to the sketch and comes up with this adorable card to show how much she cares.

Oh, the glorious layers Veronica has created on her sugary sweet birthday card! All of the little details add to the fantastic overall design - from the background stamping to the consistent use of stitched dies to the little bow on the button. What little girl wouldn't love this card?

You have until Tuesday, February 3, at noon EST to add your link and be eligible for the prize of up to $20 in MFT Cash to be spent in the MFT boutique. Winners are chosen at random, so everyone has a chance! The weekly prize is a $15 Gift Voucher to My Favorite Things, but if you use MFT stamps and/or dies in your project, you’ll receive an extra $5.

We'll also occasionally feature cool interpretations of the sketch on the blog and give shout outs to fun, unique, and noteworthy projects. Who knows? You might be SPOTTED! Share your cards on InstagramTwitter, and Facebook using the hashtag #mftstamps.

Congratulations, Kristie! You are the randomly selected winner of last week’s sketch challenge. You can view all the entries for last week’s challenge HERE.
