Welcome to the wonderful world of sketch inspiration and our first sketch challenge of October. Prepare yourself for a whole lot of cute!
Let's welcome our October guest designer, the super-talented Jocelyn Olson! It was such a pleasure to have Jocelyn join us for our World Card Making Day festivities right here on the Challenge and Inspiration blog. If you missed her clever card using the Comfy Sweater Die-namics, you really should check it out HERE.
You will see that Jocelyn is pretty talented at this card making thing! While she is adept at creating with paper and stamps, she is also wildly proficient with digital designing. I know that she has taught me a thing or two along the way.
Now let's get down to business and see how Jocelyn interpreted her very first sketch with us:
There's always such a beautiful subtlety to Jocelyn's designs. Her snow white background attains a lovely texture with the delicately embossed Four Way Chevron Cover-Up Die-namics. Made you look, didn't I? Her artistic treatment of the brand new Trim the Tree stamp set is absolutley stunning.
The Challenge Team is at it again with inspiring creations. Let's see how they interpreted Sketch 249!
Alice's cozy bear from the Cool Day stamp set is the focal point on this delightful card. She shrinks the main panel of the sketch and shifts it a bit to the left to fit her design. Her strips of layered washi tape serve as the bold lines of the sketch.
Erin Lee's card is truly refreshing! Using the brand spanking new Stay Cool stamp set and Cool Cup Die-namics, she's whips up a frothy rendition of this week's sketch. You'll notice she flips it as her washi strips are at the bottom of her design.
Jill takes the sketch from vertical to square and scares up a simply inspired conglomeration of spooky ghosts. She looked at the just released Stitched Mountain Range Die-namics and saw something quite different altogether. Those wiggle eyes are just perfection!
Miriam's design is right on target with the sketch. Stripes at the top, panel in the middle, sentiment at the bottom. Her fresh colors and artsy drips of whipped cream are a fun addition to the brand new Cool Cup Die-namics.
Vera is very straight forward with her interpretation of the sketch — the margin on each side, the sparkly strips at the top, the rectangle panel. The result is absolutely LOVELY. Her use of soft pastels with the brand new Winter Wonderland stamp set and Die-namics is completely sweet, and the touch of sparkle is utterly charming.

Veronica's whimsical sketch card is full of wonderful detail from the delicately embossed brick background to the window to the starry sky. The helpful little elf from the brand new Santa's Elves stamp set looks extra sweet with his patterned paper jacket and colorful hat.
