Wednesday Sketch Challenge - Sketch 253

Welcome to our friendly little corner of the blogosphere! We're so glad to have you here. Let's check out the inspiration that awaits you.

Below you'll find Sketch 253. Create cards, scrapbook layouts, home decor, treat containers, mixed media, etc. using this week's sketch and be sure to link your project below for a chance at the weekly My Favorite Things Gift Voucher worth up to $20.

Let's give a warm and  hearty welcome to our November Guest Designer for the MFT Challenge and Inspiration blog, Latisha Yoast!

Latisha is a savvy and seasoned crafter. In her own words, she calls her style "clean, classic, and easy to replicate." I'd say that she has an innate ability of mixing cute and sass with a whole lot of panache. She loves to stamp and die cut, as well as mix patterned papers. Besides cards, she loves to make tags and mini albums, so she's no one trick pony!

Let's see how Latisha interpreted her first sketch with us this month:

Starry Holiday Card by Latisha Yoast featuring the Hand Lettered Holiday stamp set and the Laina Lamb Design Lucky Stars Die-namics #mftstamps
Latisha took a literal approach to this week's sketch from the angled sentiment to the sparkly array of stars. Pairing the Lucky Stars Die-namics with the Hand Lettered Holiday stamp set is the perfect way to create this classic holiday greeting. All of that added sparkle is a plus!

The Challenge Team is at it again with inspiring creations. Let's see how they interpreted Sketch 253!

Look How They Shine for You Card by Alice Wertz featuring the Laina Lamb Design Count the Stars stamp set and the Lucky Stars and Stars & Wishes Die-namics #mftstamps

Alice is seeing stars, too, but her card isn't for the holidays. I love how she used several of the products from our Count the Stars series for this celestial masterpiece. Silver sparkle card stock and vellum stars add to the interest and depth of this design.

Warm Hugs Card by Erin Lee Schreiner featuring the Birdie Brown Merry Christmoose stamp set and Die-namics and Stitched Pinking Edge Square STAX Die-namics #mftstamps

Erin Lee focused on the angle of the sentiment and the dots of the sketch, but the rest of the design is rather interpretive. Totally kosher! I'm going to wager a guess that she just couldn't wait to stamp, color, and die cut that adorable moose from the Brand NEW Merry Christmoose stamp set and Die-namics!

Smore Fun Card by Jill Dewey Hawkins featuring the Get Toasty stamp set and Toasted Marshmallows Die-namics #mftstamps
Jill was drawn to the slant of the banner in the sketch, too, but she chose to place her focal point — some delicious looking Toasted Marshmallows (brand new Die-namics for November!) in that position. The punny sentiment from the Get Toasty stamp set (also new) is the perfect finishing touch for her design.

Shine Bright Card by Miriam Prantner featuring the Hand Lettered Holiday stamp set and Laina Lamb Design Lucky Stars Die-namics #mftstamps

Like Latisha and Alice, Miriam concentrated on the stars of the sketch. I love that her interpretation is a combination of what the other two ladies did. While she used the Hand Lettered Holiday stamp set like Latisha, this card doesn't necessarily have to be for Christmas with the sentiment that she chose. It pays to look for stamps that can be used even when the season is done!

Holiday Friends Card by Vera Wirianta Yates featuring the Birdie Brown Toasty Greetings stamp set and Die-namics #mftstamps

Vera turns the sketch on its side for her interpretation and uses tiny snowflakes in place of the stars. The stars of this show are these adorable images from the Brand NEW Toasty Greetings stamp set that was officially released last night! It's fun to see our Penguins in Paradise pal all bundled up for winter. And I'm thinking that snowman better be careful being so near that fire. I guess he hasn't seen Frosty the Snowman. :)

Soft Poinsettia Holiday Card by Veronica Zalis featuring the Winter Warmth and Hand Lettered Holiday stamp sets #mftstamps

Veronica uses five-pointed poinsettias rather than stars in her pretty design. From the lace background to the soft pink poinsettias (brand new!) to the touches of gold and the elegant sentiment font, Veronica's card oozes classic sophistication.
