Snow is softly falling outside my window in Utah right now, and I'm feeling all snuggly and excited for the holidays! It makes me feel creative, and I hope you're feeling the same way, too!
Say hello again to our November Guest Designer for the MFT Challenge and Inspiration blog, Latisha Yoast!
Latisha juggles a busy lifestyle designing pretty things and looking after and raising two fantastic teenagers with her husband Jess who is a US Navy Helicopter Pilot. When her husband deploys, Latisha makes sure to tuck mini albums she's created in his things with pictures and sentiments to keep him company during the long months away, and she'll also send along bunches of handmade cards for the servicemen and women working with him to share with their families back home. It's those little handmade pieces created with love that can help ease the homesickness even just a tiny bit.
Let's see how Latisha interpreted this week's sketch!
Latisha takes an adorable approach to this week's sketch with a delightful pastel concoction filled with sweetness. With a monochromatic background created using the brand new Chunky Chevron Cover-Up Die-namics, she sets the stage to feature our cute penguin pal as the focal point. I love the soft and pretty touch the frothy ribbon adds to this design!
The Challenge Team is at it again with inspiring creations. Let's see how they interpreted Sketch 254!
Jill turns the sketch on its side to maximize the repetition of her new favorite sentiment from the Let's Get Cozy stamp set. And the snuggles get even more delicious with a mug of cocoa created with the super cute Hot Cocoa Cups Die-namics. I love how finished this card looks with the double die cutting that Jill does!
Miriam uses the angles at the top of the sketch as a blue sky. Very creative! I love how the cloud from the Top Dog stamp set is nestled in the intersection of her various shades of blue. Also fitting is her color choice for the sentiment of the card and the wistful look on the doggie's face.
Vera turns the sketch upside down to give her pup a stage on which to stand. The angle of the sentiment and the dog walking toward it give her design movement and energy. The jumble of the bones (found in the Top Dog stamp set) are a fun detail that I need to mimic sometime soon!

Veronica also turns the sketch upside down, but her angles become snowdrifts, setting the scene for two polar bears sharing a Christmas moment. I love how she uses the Birthday Bears stamp set and pairs it with a sentiment, gift, and snowflakes from the Trim the Tree stamp set. It's creative uses of stamp sets like this that make me cheer! And don't even get me started on that delightful sliver of silver sparkle. SO pretty!
