Wednesday Sketch Challenge - Sketch 261

It's hard to believe that we have almost reached the end of 2015. Seriously, did this year fly by or what?

We will still be here in the new year inspiring you and giving you that extra little push to exercise your creativity. Of course, the holidays have been hectic, but now it's time for you to slide back into your craft space and use those new supplies you've been eyeing. It's TIME!

Below you'll find Sketch 261. Create cards, scrapbook layouts, home decor, treat containers, mixed media, etc. using this week's sketch and be sure to link your project below for a chance at the weekly My Favorite Things Gift Voucher worth up to $20.

It's been a fun and inspiring month with Amber Kemp-Gerstel as our
MFT Challenge and Inspiration blog December Guest Designer!

Don't forget to follow along with Amber on her blog Damask Love for lots of creative fun. You'll always learn something, and you'll probably laugh out loud, too! That is an awesome combination.

Also, a little reminder... In this post last month for Sketch 256, I talked about how our November guest, Latisha Yoast, hosts a massive blog hop that consists of a long list of designers giving away craft supplies. The fun begins at 12 am EST on New Year's Day. You can stop by Latisha's blog to find your way through all of the posts!
Let's see how Amber interpreted her last sketch with us:

You Are Amazing Card by Amber Kemp-Gerstel featuring the Doubly Amazing and Laina Lamb Design Emmitt Alphabet Die-namics #mftstamps

Amber focuses on the sentiment in her design by making it big and bold using the Emmitt Alphabet and Doubly Amazing Die-namics. The flag underscoring the word amazing helps to add balance to her design AND fits perfectly with the sketch.

The Challenge Team is at it again with inspiring creations. Let's see how they interpreted Sketch 261!

Wild About You Card by Alice Wertz featuring the Sweet Safari stamp set #mftstamps

Alice features the Sweet Safari stamp set on the main panel of the sketch and her sentiment is placed on the flag. I love how she uses the pretty patterned paper as the thick horizontal line of the sketch. I honestly want to hug every one of those cute animals, don't you?

Vibrant Happy Birthday Card by Erin Lee Schreiner featuring the Arrow Greetings, Happy, Stitched Mini Scallop Square STAX, and the Blueprints 20 Die-namics #mftstamps

Erin Lee puts a cap on a bold patterned paper panel like the triangle in the sketch and chooses a strong sentiment on this saturated and colorful card. The Happy and Arrow Greetings Die-namics make for an awesome pair in this design!

Bye Card by Jill Dewey Hawkins featuring the Amazing stamp set, High Rise Alphabet Lowercase the Four Way Chevron Cover-Up and Laina Lamb Design Lucky Stars Die-namics #mftstamps

Jill places a star where the triangle is in the sketch and moves the flag up in her design. I absolutely love her dramatic use of the After Midnight card stock which really makes the Limelight High-Rise Alphabet stand out. As always, her inlaid die cutting is so inspiring. Bye, Felicia!

You’ve Been Amazing Card by Miriam Pranter featuring the Amazing stamp set, Roses All Over background stamp, and Doubly Amazing Die-namics #mftstamps

Miriam bids 2015 adieu with this elegant take on sketch 261. The metallic gold amazing paired with the sentiment from the Amazing stamp set look stunning against her subtle Roses All Over background. Such a LOVELY design.

Sweet Elephant Hello Card by Vera Wirianta Yates featuring the Birdie Brown Adorable Elephants stamp set and Die-namics and the Laina Lamb Design Stitched Alphabet Die-namics #mftstamps

Vera is ready to say hello to 2016 with this cute design featuring the Adorable Elephants stamp set and Die-namics. Her sentiment really pops on the horizontal strip with the Stitched Alphabet Die-namics. Gold star for adorable, that's for sure!

I Will Always Be Here for You Card by Veronica Zalis featuring the Birdie Brown Adorable Elephants stamp set and Die-namics, the Mini Modern Blooms stamp set, and the Tall Grassy Edge Die-namics #mftstamps

Veronica switches the sketch up a bit and places flowers in the triangle spot, but she shifts it to the right. It's likely she did that so that it would balance the image from the Adorable Elephants stamp set and Die-namics. You see, the elephant is facing to the right, so she placed him toward the left so that he would be looking in to the design. That makes placing the flowers on the right a balanced design. Well done, Veronica!
