Wednesday Sketch Challenge - Sketch 229

Happy Wednesday from the MFT Challenge & Inspiration blog! We're glad you popped in for a stroll through creativity-land!

Below you'll find Sketch 229. Create cards, scrapbook layouts, home decor, treat containers, mixed media, etc. using this week's sketch and be sure to link your project below for a chance at the weekly My Favorite Things Gift Voucher worth up to $20.

Lorena Cantó is back with us again as our May Guest Designer. We're so glad to have her!

Lorena is a paper crafter, yes, but by day she works for an international new agency. Currently, she's living in Bolivia. She is quite an accomplished lady!

While we are ramping up for the beginning of Summer with Memorial Day right around the corner, Lorena is enjoying the colors of fall in the Southern Hemisphere — hence the color scheme of her card for this week's sketch.

Your Strength Card by Lorena Cantó featuring the Build-able Blooms stamp set and Die-namics

Lorena turned the sketch on its side and replaced the triangles with flowers from the Build-able Blooms stamp set instead. Magically, she is able to soften the graphic nature of the sketch by just switching out one element.

The Challenge Team never fails to inspire. Let's see what they've been cooking up in their craft rooms!

From My Barn Card by Alice Wertz featuring the Birdie Brown The Whole Herd stamp set and Ride the Wave Die-namics
The cutie pie creatures from The Whole Herd stamp set command our attention in this whimsical card from Alice. I love who she stamped more cute images on the wave to add to the design.

My Hero Card by Erin Lee Schreiner featuring the Lisa Johnson Designs For The Boys stamp set and the Trendy Triangles stamp set.

Erin Lee went for a decidedly masculine flair with her direct interpretation of the sketch. Wouldn't this make a great Father's Day card? The For the Boys stamp set is exactly what you need for all of the cool guys in your life.
You're Close to My Heart Card by Jill Dewey Hawkins featuring the Build-able Blooms stamp set and Stitched Circle STAX Die-namics

Jill created an absolute STUNNER with the Build-able Blooms stamp set and Stitched Circle STAX Die-namics. I just love how she used the inlaid circle dies to spotlight the colored flowers. Simply divine!

Birthday Herd Card by Miriam Prantner featuring the Birdie Brown The Whole Herd stamp set and Die-namics

Miriam turned the sketch on its side and placed three farm animals where the triangles appear in the sketch. The fence perfectly grounds the cute creatures on the green hill. This card is sure to make the recipient grin from ear to ear.

Whimsical Farm Birthday Card by Vera Wirianta Yates featuring the Birdie Brown The Whole Herd stamp set and Herringbone Brick stencil
Vera's idea was similar to Alice's — three barnyard animals in place of the triangles. What I want you to note is how she created the line that grounds the circles. She used embossing paste and the Herringbone Bricks stencil giving the card a bit of a rustic look. It's almost like our little farm friends are peeking at us through barn windows!

Hogs & Kisses Card by Veronica Zalis featuring the Birdie Brown The Whole Herd stamp set and Die-namics

Veronica did something inventive with the sketch! She turned the main line on the side, but the rest of the card remains vertical card. The sun, the haystack, and the pig in the tub represent the 3 triangles of the sketch.

Congratulations, Barbara Campbell! You are the randomly selected winner of last week’s sketch challenge. You can view all the entries for last week’s challenge HERE.
