Say hello again to our June Guest Designer, Joscelyne Cutchens!
As a military spouse (her husband Troy is retired from the Navy), Joscie has lived in many locations, but now she resides in Alabama with Troy and her two sons. In between running, beekeeping, raising chickens, and serving her church, she manages to spend lots of time getting creative. Check out her Instagram feed for a cool peek into her life.
Let's take a look at how Joscelyne interpreted Sketch 232:
Sketches can be the perfect place to try out color combinations you've been eyeing. I love how Joscie uses juicy hues for her rendition of the sketch. It's clever, too, how she repeats the word love three times (like the three squares in the sketch) and then finishes the sentiment where the flower is. Her layers and sparkle are simply delicious.
The Challenge Team never fails to inspire. Let's see what sort of cool things they have been creating!
A tropical drink, a beach ball, and a glorious orange hibiscus take up residence in the three squares of the sketch in this cutie pie design by Alice. Our plump penguin pal from the Penguins in Paradise stamp set and Die-namics looks like he's ready for a day of fun in the sun.
Jill took a "three of these things are alike, and one is different" approach to the sketch. She created three abstract circles and added in the sentiment in the final circle to carry the eye through her design. This would be a fun card to recreate for any guy using his favorite team's colors! Note: Father's Day is in 11 days.
Miriam concentrated on the floral aspect of the sketch. Using the Build-able Blooms stamp set, she created a guide for the pretty stitching. What a lovely keepsake this card will be for a caring friend!
Vera creates a cute stack of three farm animals from The Whole Herd stamp set with a fun flag sentiment. The Cross-Stitch Rectangle STAX Die-namics is the perfect finishing touch to this downhome design.
Like Erin Lee, Veronica saw a window in the sketch. The sweet girl from the Adventure is Calling set looks perfect in the floral spot of the sketch, and the Vintage Buttons Die-namics is the perfect finishing touch.
We're sending out a BIG CONGRATULATIONS to design team member Erin Lee Schreiner on the birth of a baby girl yesterday morning. Mama and Quinn are doing well!
